ABOUT ME

Chris Youngblood is a talented basketball player who recently concluded his senior season at the University of South Florida(USF). While his collegiate career is not over, his impact on the USF Bulls program is undeniable. Hailing from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Youngblood initially played for Kennesaw State before transferring to USF for his senior year. He quickly established himself as a leader, both on the court with his scoring prowess and off the court with his strong work ethic and positive attitude.

During the 2023-24 season, Youngblood averaged a team-high 15.3 points per game, showcasing his sharp shooting ability with a 41.6% success rate from three-point range. He was also a key contributor in clutch moments, leading the Bulls to a successful season that included a regular-season championship. Youngblood's talents were recognized beyond the USF program. He was named co-AAC Player of the Year, a testament to his all-around game. However, his contributions go beyond statistics. Articles described him as a vocal leader who led by example and a strong teammate who credited his success to the entire team. Coach Abdur-Rahim echoed this sentiment, praising Youngblood not only for his skills but also
 for his character.

After a stellar season, Youngblood decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal in April of 2024. This move likely reflects his desire to play closer to his Alabama roots, as he recently committed to the University of Alabama basketball program. Chris Youngblood's journey as a basketball player is far from over. His time at USF cemented his reputation as a skilled scorer, a tenacious competitor, and a true team player. Bulls fans will remember him for his leadership and his role in propelling the program to new heights.

Community
impact

Most things worthwhile in life require dedicated effort and hard work is the engine that drives progress. By putting in the time and energy, you steadily move closer to your aspirations. Hard work is at the forefront of Chris' core values, shaping his actions on and off the court. Throughout different community engagement activities, that's one of the things he emphasizes. He believes that everyone can benefit from a strong, unified community, and volunteering helps create that. He spreads light on how effort builds skill and confidence as well as its development in resilience. Engaging with the children and families at the local recreational centers also created a two-way street of benefit. The interactions are not only heartwarming and rewarding, but he's able to learn from them just as much as they are able to learn from him. Overall, he sees his volunteer efforts as a way to instill that value in the children and families he interacts with. Chris hopes to inspire a sense of perseverance and the knowledge that dedication to effort can turn those goals into reality. That combination is what allows us to build stronger, more resilient communities where everyone can thrive.
